It’s not news to anyone that Telluride is one of the most incredible places to have an elopement. Not only is Telluride the cutest little town nestled in Colorado’s San Juan mountains, but it’s so easy to escape on an adventure outside of town for your mountain elopement. It’s one of the many reasons why we love Telluride and the San Juan mountains.
So when Mike and Maggie reached out to us about doing an elopement style post-wedding adventure session and vow reading near Telluride, we obviously couldn’t have been more excited. These two got married at a friend’s farm in northern Colorado and then traveled to southwest Colorado for their honeymoon. And they asked us to tag along to capture some elopement-style photos of the two of them adventuring together.
These two really wanted to have a wedding ceremony with all their friends and family present, while also embracing the idea of an adventure elopement, and this post-wedding adventure session allowed them to have both. They got to say their private vows at the continental divide outside of Telluride and adventure miles down a dirt road mountain pass as the sun rose. They had the chance to experience the seclusion and sense of one-ness with nature. It was their moment to experience the wild mountains outside of one of their favorite mountain towns, and we couldn’t have been more excited to come along for the adventure.
Mike and Maggie scrambled up the rocks alongside the mountain pass to a nice little outcropping where they shared their private vows with each other. One of the reasons we love these elopement-style post-wedding adventure sessions is they allow couples to have the privacy of an elopement experience after having a larger wedding.
After reading their vows to each other, Mike and Maggie made their way up the mountain pass to soak up the sun as it fully appeared from behind the mountains. Honestly, it’s mornings like these that make me a firm believer that Telluride is one of the most incredible places for an elopement. The ability to just get away from it all and escape town is like no other out here.
P.S. As adventure elopement photographers, we pride ourselves on not just documenting your Telluride elopement or small mountain wedding, but helping you plan out all the little details as well — like helping you figure out the perfect Telluride location to say your vows.
Sure, we pride ourselves in taking killer photos of killer people in killer places, but we’re firm believers that your Telluride elopement photographer should be so much more than that. They should be a resource and guide to you during the whole adventure elopement planning process. So if that sounds like your vibe, we’d love to chat with you about your dream adventure elopement.
