Pretty sure we’ll never get over how incredible this intimate little Telluride wedding was. Not only did it take place when the fall colors were absolutely GLOWING in the San Juan mountains, but the weather, landscape, and people could not have been more amazing. And did we mention it took place at the private horse ranch where the bride first learned to ride horses?!
We love intimate mountain weddings because they really give our couples the chance to be adventurous while still having their favorite people there for their small wedding. And that’s exactly what these two lovely humans did for their Telluride wedding.
We arrived the day before the wedding and were able to ride the gondola up in the evening to see that classic Telluride sunset. The alpenglow from the top is probably just about the most magical thing to witness. Living in Colorado, we’ve seen our fair share of mountains, but there’s something about the San Juan Mountains that just takes things to the next level. They’re just taller and more jagged than anything you run across on the Front Range.
While I love Colorado’s other mountain towns, I’m pretty sure Telluride weddings are officially my favorite.
The bride and groom got ready for their Telluride wedding at the bride’s parent’s cozy home in the mountains right outside of town. The aspens were in full color change…just about the most vibrant yellow color possible and the perfect start to this intimate little Telluride wedding day.
The bride grew up in Telluride and knew exactly where she wanted to have her first look: this perfect little spot with a full view of the mountains of Telluride and a little creek running through the area. We absolutely love it when couples incorporate places that have meaning to them, so we loved that this was the spot that these two chose for their first look before heading to the horse ranch for their Telluride wedding ceremony.
The small Telluride wedding ceremony took place on the edge of the horse ranch, with an incredible view of Mt. Wilson, one of Colorado’s many fourtneers. And the bride’s parent’s pup Cleo made her grand debut as the ring bearer and “dog of honor.” You can see her strutting her stuff throughout the ceremony and reception. Such a cutie.
Once their small Telluride wedding ceremony wrapped up, the bride and groom joined everyone at the other end of the horse ranch to enjoy some cocktails, mingling, and the 360 views of the mountains of Telluride. You’ll probably notice our good friend Cleo the dog of honor pup wandering around hoping some people would drop her a little snack (needless to say, her mission was a wild success).
After we all wrapped up eating dinner, we went out for sunset photos on the property. 30+ mile per hour winds and the most gorgeous sunset made for just about some of our favorite sunset couples photos. These two had such a blast running around the ranch and being total goofs.
After we wrapped up sunset photos, we all drove back into Telluride, took the gondola up, and snapped some photos at the top of the mountain. The full sky of stars in the pitch black night made for the most epic photo of these two. But enough said…you’ll have to scroll on down to see. Damn Telluride, you never disappoint.
