There’s nothing we love more than when our couples are game to venture off the beaten path for their mountain engagement photos, especially when it involves secret hot springs in the mountains near Telluride. We’re big believers that getting your photo taken doesn’t require tossing on a dress or a suit. Here’s the thing: your engagement photos should be a reflection of you two and if you don’t like formality, you don’t need to worry about dressing that way.
For their Telluride engagement photos, Mike and Maggie were totally down for trying something a bit different and going somewhere a bit unexpected: to one of our favorite hidden gems in the San Juan mountains. They spent the evening hanging out with each other in the most gorgeous alpine hot spring, enjoying some cider and watching the sun set while cars wandering down the winding mountain road below them.
We love to encourage our couples to forget the insane pressure of wedding planning and just go an adventure together instead. Your engagement photos can look however you want them to. You don’t have to follow any formula. As long as you’re having fun, you’re doing things right, which is why we love these Telluride engagement photos so much: you can tell Mike and Maggie are having a blast. And frankly that’s all that matters.

P.S. As Colorado adventure elopement and adventure wedding photographers, we pride ourselves on not just documenting your Telluride engagement photos or small mountain wedding, but helping you plan out all the little details as well — like helping you find the perfect hidden gems for your engagement session.
Sure, we pride ourselves in taking killer photos of killer people in killer places, but we’re firm believers that your adventure wedding photographer should be so much more than that. They should be a resource and guide to you during the whole adventure elopement planning process. So if that sounds like your vibe, we’d love to chat with you about your dream adventure elopement.
