It probably goes without saying that the Surf Hotel in Buena Vista, Colorado is an absolute stunner. Colorado’s mountain towns have their fair share of boutique hotels, but I’d have to say that this one is probably one of my absolute favorites. And I’m about to share why.
Disclosure: Buena Vista is hands-down one of favorite towns in Colorado, and there’s nothing I want more than for you to have the most incredible experience exploring this area. Honestly, our stay at the Surf Hotel Buena Vista perfectly showed off how nicely the hotel blended the classic outdoors culture of Colorado and BV with the upscale luxury you’d expect to see in any of the best mountain towns in the Rocky Mountains.
The rooms in the Surf Hotel and Chateau felt warm and modern at the same time. Aged, unlacquered brass finishes in the bathroom, with marble countertops and subway tile blended the look of old and new so perfectly.
And the wraparound community porch gave a very New Orleans-esque feel to the entire building. It’s the perfect spot to sip your morning coffee or enjoy a cocktail at sunset. I honestly think I found myself spending more time on the porch than anywhere else.
The hotel itself is located in the cutest part of Buena Vista, right alongside the Arkansas River and within walking distance of BV’s best coffee shop, the Midland Stop. Park behind the hotel and take a stroll through the cute little town. It’s all right there.
The interior designers of this hotel truly thought of everything. Every corner of the Surf Hotel and Chateau is gorgeous, from the mantle art to the reclaimed wood floors to the aged brass faucets. No detail went unnoticed.
Within the hotel sits the Wesley and Rose restaurant and bar. I’m not one to get food from a hotel, but I took a chance this time, and I’m so glad I did. Their blackened chicken sandwich was divine. And their cocktails were absolutely delicious too.
What review is complete without pictures, am I right?! It’s one thing for me to describe my stay at the Surf Hotel BV, but I want you to feel the experience too.
