Sand Dunes Engagement Photos

These sand dunes engagement photos are some of my absolute favorites for like a million different reasons. For starters, the way these two love on each other during their session is enough to make any heart melt. You can feel their adventurous, playful vibe in each photo. 

The way Cam throws Bree over his shoulder and runs her up the dunes. The way the two of them race down giant hills of sand together. The way they soak up every last bit of sunshine the evening has to offer. They spent the entire evening during their session chasing each other up and down the sand dunes and being total goofs. 

Another reason I love this session? This spot is one of my absolute favorite places…partially because it’s absolutely stunning and the dunes will totally blow your mind and partially because this is actually where I got married! I’ve gotta admit, there’s nothing more awesome than sharing the place you got married with another couple. It’s definitely one of the coolest parts of this job.

First off, can we talk about how crazy cool it is that the tallest dunes in the United States are actually in the Rockies? I feel like most people who want sand dunes engagement photos taken immediately think of California. And don’t get me wrong, the dunes out there are epic too, but CO is where it’s at. Not only do we have some of the most epic mountain ranges that the US has to offer, but we also have the coolest dunes by far. 

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again: if you’re looking to have the best spot for your sand dunes engagement photos, look no farther than the Rockies. World class mountains are a short drive away, but you can also feel like you’re in the middle of the desert if that’s more your vibe. We seem to have it all out here, and it’s one of the things that makes our landscapes so special.
